Mom’s Quick and Easy Chocolate Sauce

2 cups sugar

2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate

1 13 oz. can evaporated milk

1 tsp. vanilla


Combine sugar, chocolate and evaporated milk in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and thick. Serve warm over ice cream. May be cooled and kept in the refrigerator.

Makes about 1 cup.
