Venison Stew

This sounds delicious. Thanks Bill! I’m finally getting this posted after many years in my to-do pile.

1 lb venison stew meat




crushed tomatoes

1/2 lb. bacon



2 pkgs. Mrs. Grass Onion Mushroom Soup Mix (Knorr Oxtail Soup can be substituted)

1 can beer

2 cups red wine


seasoned salt

black pepper

Dice bacon, quarter potatoes, onions and mushrooms. Cut celery and carrots in large pieces. In a large skillet, heat bacon and brown meat and vegetables in batches in the bacon fat. In a large soup pot, combine the remaining ingredients. Add the meat and vegetables and bring to a simmer. Cook slowly until meat is tender and vegetables are cooked. Bon appétit!
